What first sparked your interest in your creative field?
My fascination with modeling sparked when I stumbled upon an underground fashion show in an abandoned warehouse. The raw energy, the avant-garde designs, and the eclectic mix of people ignited a fire within me. It was a moment of pure artistic rebellion that inspired me to dive headfirst into the unconventional and ever-evolving world of modeling.
What has been the most challenging project or situation in your career, and how did you handle it?
One of the most challenging yet memorable moments in my career was during an outdoor fashion show in the peak of summer. Just as I was about to step onto the runway, the sound system suddenly failed. Instead of letting it derail the show, I took it upon myself to improvise. I decided to make a playful entrance, dancing to the tunes hummed by the audience. It broke the tension and turned into a fun, spontaneous moment. Despite the initial hiccup, the show went on smoothly afterward. It taught me the importance of staying calm and adaptable in the unpredictable world of modeling.
How do you relax and unwind from the pressures of your work?
To unwind from the pressures of my work as a professional model, I find solace in two things: cooking and practicing Pilates. Cooking allows me to unleash my creativity in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes and flavors. The process of cooking helps me decompress and recharge. Additionally, practicing Pilates is another fantastic way for me to relax and stay fit. The combination of fluid movement and focus on breathing helps me find balance both physically and mentally, allowing me to tackle the challenges of my career with a clear and rejuvenated mind.
How has your creative process evolved throughout your career
Throughout my career, my creative process has evolved significantly. Initially, I was more focused on following the directions of photographers and fashion designers. However, over time, I’ve gained more confidence in my artistic vision and ability to contribute original ideas to photo shoots and runway shows. Now, I feel more comfortable expressing my personality and unique style in every job. Additionally, I’ve learned to adapt quickly to different concepts and situations, allowing me to be more versatile and creative in my work as a model.
As a child, what did you aspire to become, and how does it compare to where you are now?
As a child, I aspired to become a dentist. I was fascinated by the idea of helping people achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. While my career path has taken a different direction into the world of modeling, I still find parallels between my childhood aspiration and my current role. Just as dentists aim to enhance people’s confidence and well-being through oral care, as a model, I strive to inspire confidence and creativity through fashion and self-expression. Both paths share a common thread of making a positive impact on people’s lives, albeit in different ways.
Which project in your career do you feel has had the most impact, and why?
While my participation in the beauty pageant in Venezuela was a transformative experience, there was another project in my career that left an equally significant impact. I had the unique opportunity to participate in the inaugural Intimissimi On Ice event in Italy, at the majestic arena of Verona. It was an unforgettable night where I walked the runway alongside professional skaters from around the world. Sharing the stage with elite athletes and being part of such a grand spectacle was truly inspiring. This experience not only allowed me to immerse myself in the beauty and excitement of the world of figure skating, but it also pushed me to challenge my limits as a model and aspire to even bolder and more thrilling projects in the future of my career.
How does your cultural background influence your personal and professional life?
My cultural background as a Venezuelan has had a profound influence on both my personal and professional life. Growing up in Venezuela instilled in me a strong sense of passion, resilience, and warmth that I carry with me wherever I go. This cultural richness has shaped my approach to modeling, infusing my work with vibrancy, diversity, and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.
Moving to Italy at the age of 18 added another layer to my cultural identity. Immersing myself in the rich history, art, and fashion of Italy has broadened my perspective and refined my sense of style. It has also taught me the importance of elegance, sophistication, and attention to detail, which are invaluable qualities in the world of modeling.
Moreover, my extensive travels for work have exposed me to a multitude of cultures, traditions, and perspectives. Each experience has enriched my understanding of the world and enhanced my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. As a result, I approach every project with a sense of openness, adaptability, and inclusivity, drawing inspiration from the mosaic of cultures that have shaped my journey as a model.
Can you describe a milestone in your career that was particularly meaningful to you?
One of the most significant moments in my career was when I was selected to participate in a global campaign for sports cars in Russia. Being chosen to represent this exciting category of automobiles on an international stage was an honor and a major milestone in my modeling career. The opportunity to work on this campaign not only allowed me to showcase my talent and creativity in a unique setting but also opened doors to new professional opportunities. It was a moment of great pride and satisfaction, and I will always cherish it as a significant milestone in my journey as a model.
Outside of work, what is a hobby or activity you enjoy that might surprise people?
Outside of work, a hobby or activity that might surprise people is cooking. I find joy and relaxation in experimenting with different ingredients and recipes in the kitchen. It’s a creative outlet for me where I can explore flavors and techniques, and it’s always rewarding to share delicious meals with friends and family.
How have you adapted to changes in your industry over the years?
Adapting to changes in the modeling industry has been a continuous process for me. Over the years, I’ve stayed proactive by embracing new technologies, trends, and modes of communication. Whether it’s leveraging social media platforms to connect with fans and clients or staying updated on emerging fashion movements, I make sure to evolve alongside the industry. Additionally, I prioritize versatility and flexibility in my skills and approach, allowing me to seamlessly transition between different modeling genres and adapt to the ever-changing demands of the market.
Is there a book or movie that has significantly influenced your personal or professional perspective?
Yes, definitely, ‘The Little Prince’ has significantly influenced both my personal and professional perspective. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless tale has taught me valuable lessons about the importance of friendship, exploring identity, and seeking meaning in life. In my career as a model, I’ve applied the principles of honesty, creativity, and open-mindedness found in this literary masterpiece. It has reminded me of the importance of maintaining curiosity and imagination in everything I do, and how genuine human connections can enrich both my personal and professional life.
What piece of advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?
One piece of advice I would give to someone starting out in the modeling industry is to stay true to your values. In an industry that can sometimes be competitive and demanding, it’s important to maintain your integrity and authenticity. Stay grounded in who you are, what you believe in, and the standards you want to uphold. This will not only guide your decisions and actions but also help you navigate through challenges with grace and confidence. Remember, being true to yourself is the key to long-term success and fulfillment in this field.
Do you have a personal philosophy or mantra that guides your life and work decisions?
Yes, my personal philosophy that guides both my life and work decisions is to trust my intuition. I believe that intuition is a powerful tool that can provide valuable insights and guidance, especially in situations where logic and reason may fall short. By listening to my intuition, I’ve been able to make decisions that align more closely with my values, aspirations, and innermost desires. It’s a constant reminder to stay connected to my authentic self and to trust the wisdom that lies within.
If resources were not a constraint, what would be your dream project?
If resources were not a constraint, my dream project would be to create a holistic center focused on providing therapy sessions in family constellations and nutrition to help as many people as possible. Family constellations therapy can offer profound insights into familial and relational dynamics, promoting healing and personal growth. Additionally, incorporating nutrition counseling would further support individuals in achieving holistic well-being, addressing both physical and emotional health. This project would aim to empower individuals to lead happier, healthier lives by addressing the interconnectedness of their familial and nutritional needs.
